ERIE, Pa. — Dagostino Electronic Services, Inc. (DES) will be installing the cabling for voice and data telecommunications at Erie Insurance’s new office building in downtown Erie.

Friday, the final steel beam was put into place at what will become a 346,000-square foot office space. A drone captured video of the topping out ceremony that was attended by more than 100 people and broadcast to company employees in 12 states and Washington, D.C.

Construction of the $135 million building is slated to be complete in two years.

DES has been contracted to run all the building’s voice and data cabling and is excited to begin work in the coming months.

The final beam, painted white and adorned with hundreds of signatures of Erie Insurance employees, was topped with an American flag and an evergreen tree.

Tom Hagen, chairman of Erie Insurance, told the Erie Times-News the tree was to “placate the tree-dwelling spirits that have been displaced” according to an old Scandinavian tradition.

Founded in 1925, Erie Insurance also celebrated its 93rd anniversary on Friday.

DES is honored to be working with a company with such a deep and vested history with the city of Erie.
